On October 29, 2010 the Deccan Chronicle reported that the Banjara Hills police on Thursday arrested two brothers who swindled `98 lakh out of over 900 people. The accused are M.P. Shanwazz, 28, and Ansari alias Anaz, 30, from Kozhikode, Kerala. According to police, the accused came to the city three months ago and rented a flat at Road No. 12 in Banjara Hills.

On October 29, 2010, the Hindustan Times reported that the CIA II police have arrested two persons, including a woman, and seized fake currency worth Rs 4.7 lakh from them. The duo, who basically hail from Patiala district, were arrested by the CIA II police from Moti Nagar area of the city on Wednesday night. The accused, identified as Paramjit Kaur (35) and Satpal Singh (30), were nabbed when they were trying to buy something by the fake currency.

On October 29, 2010 the Pioneer reported that the Cyber Cell on Thursday arrested two persons for fraudulently transferring Rs 46,800 through net banking. One of the accused is an engineer while the other is persuing his degree in engineering, said police. Dr JK Yadav, a resident of Kolar Road, had lodged a complaint with Cyber Cell IG Rajendra Mishra on July 7 that `46,800 was debited from his bank account to the account of one Jai Sharma.

On October 29, 2010 the Times of India reported that the wife and mother-in-law of a 28-year-old software engineer, Gopal Saha, were arrested on Thursday evening, hours after the man committed suicide at his house in Narayantala under Baguiati police station on Wednesday night. The arrests were made after the victim’s father Tushar Kanti Saha lodged an FIR, accusing Gopal’s wife Jayita Saha and mother-in-law Hena Banerjee of abetting the suicide.
