As reported in the Times of India, the city police nabbed three hardcore criminals for robbing 1.5 kg of gold and Rs.13 lakh in cash from an employee of a jewellery firm in the Sindhi Camp area on July 19. The three accused were identified as Majid Khan, Arsad Khan and Nasir Khan. The victim was on his way to the firm’s office when the miscreants threw chilly powder in his eyes and robbed him of the bag in which he was carrying gold and cash.

As published in the Times of India, Forest officials from Chamarajnagar district nabbed a gang of deer hunters who reportedly poached on more than 120 deer at Bandipur forest. The four accused entered Boodipadaga forest area pretending to go on a safari killed the deer and fled. Forest officials nabbed Shoaib, Tanveer, and Nawaz. One of the accused Salman is still at large. The accused persons have been booked under various sections of the Forest Act and Wildlife Conservation Act.

As printed in the Pioneer, the police laid a trap and arrested six people and a customs official for selling heroin at Central Railway Station. They seized one kg of heroin worth Rs 1 crore in the international market from the suspects. The arrested persons were customs official Natarajan, his associates Soundara Rajan, Ravi, Kannan and Charles. Police recovered the contraband from a house in Mogappair.

As reported in the Times of India, the Tardeo police have arrested two youths in a rape and molestation case of two minors on August 28. The accused had allegedly lured the minor girls on the pretext that they would take them to the beach. One of the arrested accused, Nagesh raped one of the victims at his residence and his accomplice helped in the crime and molested the victim’s friend.

As published in the Pioneer, unidentified thieves stole cash and jewellery worth around 1 lakh after they broke into a house in Nehru Colony area on August 28. The thieves decamped with 42,000 in cash, gold rings, earrings and mangalsutra. Police has registered a case of theft and started an investigation.

As reported in the Hindustan Times, the police arrested Suman Kumari, a lady teacher based in Moga for stealing a Honda Activa parked at the basement near the office of Deputy Director, Punjab Education Department at Vikas Bhawan in Phase VIII. She was caught on the basis of CCTV footage. The accused has been produced in the court and sent to one-day police remand.

As published in the Deccan Herald, the Upparpet police arrested five suspects in connection with a kidnapping and murder case of a man on August 16 near Kengeri and Mandya. The accused held were Chandrashekhar, Prasanna, Raghavendra, Anil Kumar. Another suspect Paramesh is still absconding. The suspects kidnapped the victim, collected his ATM cards and PIN numbers and strangled him with a wire and murdered him.

As published in the Times of India, the police arrested Santosh Bhukan on charges of kidnapping, murder and destroying evidence of his lover who was also worked as a receptionist in his company. The accused on August took the victim to his farmhouse which is under construction at Ponde village in Malshiras, Purandar taluka. After offering her a sedated drink he strangled her with a rope and murdered her.

As reported in the Hindustan Times, the police held two employees among the four accused from Education Department in connection with the Rs 1.50-crore GPF fraud case in the education department block. The accused had withdrawn money by fraudulently obtaining fake ID proofs and bills of government teachers and opening bank accounts in their names. A case has been registered against accused under various section of the IPC. The accused were identified as Sukhbir Singh, Parveen Bala, Shashi Bala and Darampal. The latter two are still to be caught and a search has been launched to nab them.
