As reported in the Times of India, Prashant Kumar Srivastava (30) was arrested by the police on May 26 in Lucknow while moving in a suspicious manner. The police recovered ladies purses, mobile phones, sim cards and ATM cards from his possession. A case has been registered.
As reported in the Hindu, police have arrested 5 persons in connection with circulating fake currency at Bypass Road, Kadapa. They were nabbed after a man who was duped had complained to the police. Fake notes worth Rs. 3 lakh was seized from them.
As reported in Deccan Chronicle, R. Ibrahim (33) a call center employee assaulted an MTC driver on May 25 at Ambattur bus depot. Verbal confrontations lead to a physical fight between them. Ibrahim had parked his bike in the middle of the road to which the bus driver opposed however Ibrahim refused to move and hence a fight broke between them. Ibrahim was arrested.
As printed in Deccan Herald, two unknown person gained entry into an old couple’s house and fled with a gold chain by diverting their attention. The incident happened at Tyagarajnagar on May 26. The police is investigating the case to find the robbers.
The Hindustan Times reported that Shama and her relatives were sentenced to life imprisonment for murdering her husband on May 9, 2007 at Hoshiarpur. Her husband was blazed on fire by Shama, her mother, brother and cousin.
As published in Dainik Bhaskar, Nine people of Sahu Community have been booked under the charges of harassment and abetting suicide of a woman, Kachara Bai. She & her husband were forced to live like siblings & also had paid a penalty as they belonged to the same village. All the accused are now absconding. The incident took place at a village in Durg Bhillai.
As reported in the Pioneer, Ajay Tiwari and Shoaib were arrested from an internet café in Bhopal on May 26 for making forged documents. A fraud case has been registered against the accused and some more arrests are expected in this case. The forged documents prepared were like mark sheets, bank passbooks, pay slips and driving license.
As published in the Times of India, 2 private security agencies employee Munna Yadav and Ram Yadav were arrested in a robbery case at an ATM located in Oshiwara on May 18. Their accomplice Guddu was also arrested. The other two who assisted in keeping the cash were also held in this case.
As published in Lokmat, 2 youths were arrested in connection with robberies and snatching at various places in Nagpur, Yavatmal, Chandrapur and other various districts. There 3 accomplices which includes a woman fled from the scene. An air gun, 2 mobile phones, Tata sumo and a motorcycle was seized from them.
